This is an unofficial app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), or any government agency. It is an independent tool that helps you check the public ICE Online Detainee Locator System (ODLS).
The details you enter are stored only on your phone. The developer operates no
servers and never receives, sees, or stores your data. When you tap “Search,” the app submits the
details to the official ICE ODLS website (locator.ice.gov) to look up
the status — exactly as if you typed them on that website yourself.
This information is kept in the app’s private, sandboxed storage on your device. It is not uploaded to any server run by the developer — there are none.
To look up a status, the app opens the official ICE ODLS website inside the app and submits the
saved details to that website. Those details are therefore transmitted to ICE’s website (a U.S.
government service) at the time of the search, over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, to retrieve the
result. This is the same data you would submit if you used locator.ice.gov directly in a
browser. The developer is not a party to that transmission and does not receive a copy.
The ICE website may use Google reCAPTCHA and its own analytics; those are governed by ICE’s and Google’s privacy policies, not this one. The app itself contains no advertising, no analytics, and no third‑party tracking.
Your saved information stays on your device until you remove it. You can delete an individual saved person, or use “Delete everything saved” in Settings to erase all of it. Uninstalling the app also removes all stored data.
This app is not directed to children.
